Devlog (1/7/24): Very close to done.

Hello, all. I'm getting pretty close to DONE Done with the game now. The list of major things left to implement is now basically down to the Colorblind settings (which will let you set the key/door color palette to something you like or to a preset), the intro and ending scenes, and an ingame credit for all the songs used. Once those three things are in, everything left to add or change in the game will be minor things like visual tweaks or changes to the text. Of course, everything left will still take a while (between a few weeks to 2 months pessimistically) to make, and after everything's made, there's still the final wave of testing that'll need to happen. Once all THAT is done, though, and all final adjustments have been made, I Wanna Lockpick will be ready for release. I WILL say that the ingame level editor is no longer planned to be implemented, but one of the testers has been making a level editor of their own which looks better than the one I used internally, so for now I'm going to say that's handled on that front. That's all I have to say for now, so thanks for keeping up to date with my progress.

Congrats on the progress, excited for the full game!

super excited! I loved playing through part 1, had no clue the game was close to being done though.

ooooh exciting!! (if you’re looking for more testers let me know!)

I actually cant wait until this is released, like I havent even finished part 1 yet but this is easily one of the best games I've played, I could play this for years and never get bored, thank you for all the hard work you've put in this game. I cant wait to see whats coming in part 2

How about a Linux version? I'd really like to play your game

Linux and Mac builds will probably be impossible, sorry. The only way for me to make a build for those operating systems is for me to have a machine that runs them myself, and unfortunately I do not.

Update: I finished the colorblind options too, in a strange burst of energy. So now that is no longer a thing I need to work on before the game is finished.

Update 2: Finished the intro (although I haven't tested it yet). My list of things remaining is getting very very short now...

Update 3: Made everything for all the intro/ending cutscenes, as well as the credits. This means the game is now playable start to finish! I still need to go on a bugfixing rampage, and there are two tiny features left to add, but wow, I can work fast when I want to, I guess. (This does NOT mean the game is coming out in the next few days, it will still take a while! But this amount of completion is a good sign that it will have a timely release.)
